NEW YORK – Bernhardt Design is set to present its latest creations at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) from May 17-19, featuring a striking new sofa designed by Terry Crews as well as a curated selection from its collaboration with ArtCenter College of Design.
The Crews Sofa, marking Terry Crews’ sixth project with Bernhardt Design, draws inspiration from automotive aesthetics and nostalgic memories of his grandfather’s Cadillac. The piece pairs a visible walnut frame with fluid, upholstered forms and can be customized with any Bernhardt Textiles fabric, leather, or customer-supplied material.
“The balance between the solid wood and airy cushions creates a subtle tension,” Crews explains. “Even though it’s stationary, the sofa evokes motion—its sweeping silhouette and forward-leaning stance suggest it could glide forward at any moment.”

Jerry Helling, president of Bernhardt Design, praised the collaboration: “Terry approaches furniture like an artist. Every piece begins as a hand-drawn sketch before moving into digital modeling. This sofa is imaginative and truly distinctive—I’ve never encountered anything similar.”
In addition, Bernhardt will debut five new seating designs from this year’s ArtCenter College studio, which explored the emerging concept of “privacy lounges.” The collection spans sculptural upholstered chairs, modular systems, and lightweight wood-framed pieces.
Founded in 1980 under the legacy of the 130-year-old Bernhardt Furniture Co., Bernhardt Design also supports the ICFF Studio scholarship program, giving emerging designers a platform to showcase their work to global manufacturers, retailers, and media.
