Meet&CoMURRAY, Utah — Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. has begun implementing planned headcount reductions, announcing the closure of an office for its Brand House Collective division that will affect 88 jobs. The move follows the company’s late April announcement of a significant pivot toward AI integration across operations.
The Brand House Collective location at 5310 Maryland Way in Brentwood, Tennessee, will permanently close effective September 30, according to a WARN Notice filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development on May 5. Some operations at the facility will close earlier, effective July 4. The location is listed as the office address for The Brand House Collective, formerly known as Kirkland’s Inc., which Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. acquired earlier this year.
During the company’s first-quarter analyst call in late April, Executive Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis stated that the aggressive push to adopt AI would eliminate a substantial number of positions across supply chain, IT, accounting, marketing, and merchandising.
Lemonis explained that some eliminated positions will be redeployed elsewhere, describing a strategy of shifting payroll out of corporate offices and warehouses into revenue-generating areas. He noted that customer service currently lacks sufficient staffing, as do qualified store teams for upselling, design services, and in-home customer support.
More broadly, the company aims to cut over $60 million in costs by January 2027 by consolidating supply chain, merchandising, customer service, technology, and administrative functions into a single operating platform.
Lemonis emphasized in his April 28 letter to shareholders that the initiative is not simply about cost reduction but about building an operating model designed to scale.
