How Do Couch Alligator Clips Work?

Couch alligator clips work by using a “metal pin + toothed locking” mechanism to firmly secure modular sofa sections together.

When used, a metal pin on one side slides into a toothed clamp on the other side, and as the pieces are pushed together, the teeth automatically lock into place, creating a one-way mechanical hold that prevents slipping through friction and a stop-lock design.

To disconnect, the release end must be lifted to disengage the lock. They are commonly used in sectional sofas to prevent movement and are more stable than basic connectors, but require proper alignment during installation.
