Has anyone dealt with this before? I’m trying to hook up my sectional and everything seems aligned, but why are the alligator clips not working on my sectional?
Alligator clips on a sectional sofa usually fail to work properly due to misalignment, incomplete engagement, or loose hardware.
In practice, modular sectional connectors need to be perfectly aligned and level before they can lock; even a slight angle offset can prevent the teeth from engaging.
Over time, shipping stress or frequent rearranging can also loosen screws, weaken the metal, or deform the clip mechanism, reducing its grip.
Fixes include realigning the sections on a flat surface, tightening all mounting hardware, and replacing damaged clips if necessary to restore a secure connection.
