AUBURN, Maine – Thos. Moser, the recently acquired high-end case goods specialist, has added new wood options to its Bates collection, reflecting wood furniture’s growing popularity in upcoming design trends.
The Bates collection, launched last October, is handmade and domestically produced, featuring a bed and side table that celebrate Maine’s craftsmanship heritage. The bed draws inspiration from the bobbin-and-spool beds of the early 1800s and is paired with a Martha Washington bedspread made by Maine’s Bates Mill Co. Originally available in cherry wood, the collection now offers walnut as an additional choice.
“Cherry wood is known for its strength and patina as it ages and remains a popular wood finish, with walnut offering a warmer rich toned-wood. These handcrafted and sustainably made designs honor the rich heritage of Maine manufacturing, and the heirloom quality and craftsmanship that can only be achieved by something made by hand.” the company said.
The bed is priced between 5,700 and just over 10,000, crafted from a solid block of wood with an interlocking mortise and tenon joint. The matching side table, priced from $2,375 to $3,100, features a beveled top and rounded corners for a polished look.
