Meet&CoShanghai-based furniture maker Stellar Works has teamed up once again with internationally recognized design studio Yabu Pushelberg to debut a new dining-focused furniture line called the Timothy collection. The launch includes a dining armchair and table that reinterpret familiar seating and dining forms through a stripped-down, architectural design language.
The collaboration brings together Stellar Works’ expertise in hospitality and contract furniture with the design perspective of Yabu Pushelberg, the New York- and Toronto-based studio led by George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg. The two firms have maintained a long-term creative relationship, producing multiple collections together over the years.
At the heart of the new release is the Timothy Dining Armchair, a piece that emphasizes structure over ornamentation. Its design draws attention to the exposed wooden frame, where construction details are intentionally left visible rather than concealed. A distinctive T-joint, formed where the armrest meets the rear leg, becomes a defining visual element of the chair.

The seating combines an upholstered cushion with a split backrest supported by a solid wood framework. The design allows the wood to gently shape the fabric, creating a tailored yet open silhouette that balances comfort with visual lightness.
According to co-founder George Yabu, the concept began with the idea of revisiting the classic wingback chair and removing excess elements to reveal its essential structure. The result is a piece that maintains a sense of enclosure and comfort while feeling more refined and contemporary in appearance.
Complementing the chair is the Timothy Dining Table, which continues the same design principles through its sculptural wooden base. The table features curved legs that extend outward before connecting to a slim, understated tabletop. Reinforced angular supports beneath the surface echo the collection’s signature geometry.
The table will be available in two lengths, 2100 mm and 2400 mm, and offered in multiple finishes including oak and walnut.
Glenn Pushelberg noted that the project is the outcome of a long-standing dialogue between the two companies rather than a single design cycle. This ongoing exchange, he explained, has helped shape a shared design philosophy centered on proportion, craftsmanship, and identifying gaps in the current furniture market.
Stellar Works continues to position itself at the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary global design. The brand produces furniture for hospitality, commercial, and residential environments, blending Japanese design influences with modern manufacturing capabilities based in Shanghai.
The Timothy collection reflects this approach, focusing on material honesty, structural clarity, and everyday usability while aiming to offer furniture that feels both familiar and updated for modern interiors.
