Meet&CoPLANO, Texas — Upbound Group, the parent company of lease-to-own retailer Rent-A-Center, has expanded its presence in Eastern Kentucky with the opening of a new store in Harlan.
Located at 168 Village Center Road, Suite 163, the showroom is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.
Kevin Webb, president of Raintree—the Lexington-based Rent-A-Center franchisee operating the location—shared enthusiasm about the new opening, noting the company’s commitment to providing brand-name home furnishings under flexible lease terms without long-term financial obligations.
To mark the launch, a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 30. Company representatives, store employees, and members of the Harlan County Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance. The event is open to the public, offering visitors a chance to browse available merchandise.
As part of the celebration, the store will present a donation to Christ’s Hands Inc., a local nonprofit supporting residents facing food insecurity. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter prize drawings for an Ashley Furniture recliner and a Sony PlayStation 5.
Raintree operates multiple Rent-A-Center stores across Kentucky and Virginia, with the Harlan location representing the latest step in its regional growth.
