FAIRBORN, Ohio — Morris Furniture Co., a Top 100 retail enterprise, is again spearheading support for the annual Gem City Jam golf outing, a key fundraising initiative benefiting Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Since its inception, the event has generated over $3 million for the hospital, with Morris Chairman Larry Klaben championing its mission for nearly two decades. This year’s outing is scheduled for August 4 at NCR Country Club.
In a formal letter shared with stakeholders, Klaben emphasized his longstanding dedication to the cause, noting his prior role as chair of the hospital’s Board of Trustees. “Having witnessed firsthand Dayton Children’s unwavering dedication to pediatric health, I am honored to contribute to their vision of pursuing ‘optimal health for every child within our reach,’” he stated. Klaben also highlighted the hospital’s resilience amid recent challenges, praising its exemplary response during the COVID-19 pandemic and its advocacy for expanding mental and behavioral health services across Ohio.
