JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Memorial Day weekend ended on a high note for sleep retailer Jacksonville Bedding, Mattresses & More, as a wave of shoppers arrived late Monday and pushed sales to their strongest levels of the holiday period.
According to owner R.J. Williams, the busiest stretch came during the afternoon and evening hours, with customer traffic accelerating significantly after lunchtime. He noted that between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., the company recorded impressive sales numbers that outperformed expectations and mirrored trends reported by retailers across the country.
Williams said heavily promoted mattress brands once again delivered solid results during the holiday event. Products from TSI, Helix and 3Z Brands attracted strong customer interest, while the retailer’s natural and organic mattress selection also generated substantial demand.

Eco-focused brands such as Avocado, Prana and King Koil performed especially well as shoppers continued prioritizing wellness and healthier sleep environments. Williams added that his stores offer one of the largest selections of natural and organic mattresses in Florida, helping the company stand out in a competitive market.
Beyond mattresses, adjustable bases emerged as another major growth category over the holiday weekend. Williams said more shoppers explored sleep-enhancing accessories and comfort upgrades than during previous promotional events, reflecting broader consumer interest in personalized sleep solutions.
Looking ahead to the summer season, Williams remains optimistic about continued business momentum. He emphasized that consistency in advertising, maintaining customer focus and staying committed during uncertain economic conditions remain essential for long-term retail success.
