Meet&CoIkea U.S. has revealed plans to open a new retail location in Sarasota, Florida, expanding its presence in the Sunshine State. The new store is expected to welcome customers this summer and will become the company’s sixth outlet in Florida.
The upcoming showroom will be situated at 147 N. Cattleman Road in Sarasota. It marks a continued effort by the Conshohocken, Pennsylvania-based furniture giant to make its products more accessible to shoppers across the region.
According to Ikea U.S. interim CEO Rob Olson, the expansion aligns with the company’s goal of bringing affordable and thoughtfully designed home furnishings closer to more customers. He noted that the Sarasota opening builds on recent growth in Florida, including several new “Plan and Order Point” locations partnered with Best Buy that launched last year.
The Sarasota store will span approximately 48,000 square feet and feature an extensive range of home products. More than 5,000 items will be showcased in the space, including thousands of curated accessories, lighting options, textiles, and over 100 compact furniture pieces available for immediate purchase. Larger furniture items such as sofas, beds, and full catalog offerings can be ordered in-store or online, with flexible delivery and pickup services available.

Customers will also have access to personalized design support through consultation services for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and small living spaces. These planning sessions aim to help shoppers tailor solutions to their specific home needs.
Adding to the in-store experience, Ikea will include its popular Swedish food area, offering well-known menu items such as meatballs, plant-based alternatives, falafel, veggie hot dogs, and cinnamon buns for dining in or takeout.
The Sarasota location will also introduce an “As-Is” section, where customers can purchase discounted returned or discontinued items. This initiative supports Ikea’s broader sustainability efforts by reducing waste and extending product life cycles.
Local leadership emphasized that Sarasota’s growing population and strong community spirit made it an ideal choice for expansion, with the goal of making Ikea’s home solutions more accessible to residents in the area.
