BUTNER, N.C. — Children’s furniture brand Nugget has expanded its product lineup with the introduction of Smore, a modular chair designed to encourage hands-on creativity and imaginative play. Unlike traditional children’s seating, Smore can be taken apart and reassembled into a variety of configurations, transforming everyday furniture into an interactive play experience.
The new chair joins Nugget’s existing collection of play-focused products, including the popular Nugget play couch and Chunk ottoman. Made up of three durable components, Smore can be rearranged into different structures such as cozy reading corners, tunnels, mini playhouses, activity stations, and more, giving children countless opportunities for creative exploration.
According to Nugget CEO and co-founder David Baron, the company set out to rethink the conventional kids’ chair category. He explained that most children’s chairs are designed solely for sitting, while Smore was created with play at its core. The company even coined the term “playwithable” to describe products that actively invite interaction and imagination, reflecting Nugget’s belief that children naturally possess extraordinary creativity when given the right tools.

Designed with longevity in mind, Smore adapts as children grow. By repositioning its three sections, parents can modify the seat height to better suit a child’s changing size and comfort needs. Its compact design also makes it a practical choice for bedrooms and smaller spaces, while remaining lightweight enough to move and reconfigure with ease.
Smore also marks a milestone for the company as its first customizable product. Customers can personalize the chair with optional embroidered details, adding a unique touch to the furniture.
The chair is offered in nine color selections and three fabric choices, including a newly introduced denim material. Manufactured and assembled entirely in North Carolina, Smore is available exclusively through Nugget’s online store. Introductory pricing starts at $179 through June 23, after which the base price will increase to $199 on June 24. Personalized embroidery can be added for an additional $19.
