Use these spacing guidelines for safety and comfort.

| 72" x 30" | 4 students | 6 | 42" |
| 96" x 36" | 6 students | 8 | 48" (need space to exit) |
Per-student workspace: Minimum 24" width, 18" depth. For collaborative projects, allow 30" width so students can spread materials.
Fire safety: Consider that students at the center of a large table must exit past others. For tables over 72" wide, leave both ends open. For grades K-2, don't seat more than 4 per table – young children can't navigate tight spaces.
