I’m currently scouting furniture for my new basement man cave and keep seeing these two terms used interchangeably online—can someone explain what’s the difference between a pub table and a bar table?
Simply put, the core difference lies in the height:
Bar Table: Taller, approximately 40–42 inches (102–107 cm). It requires bar stools with a seat height of about 30 inches (75 cm). It's ideal for standing social gatherings or drinks.
Pub Table: Slightly shorter, approximately 35–36 inches (90 cm). It requires counter stools with a seat height of about 24–26 inches (65 cm). It’s better suited for casual dining or long conversations.
