I lost the key to my old office cabinet and now I’m stuck — does anyone know how to pick a lock on a filing cabinet?
There are two main methods for picking a filing cabinet lock:
Method 1: Paperclip lock picking
Straighten one end of a paperclip, leaving the other end bent. Then, insert the bent end of the paperclip into the keyhole and rotate it from left to right or right to left until you find the correct unlocking position. Finally, pull the handle to successfully open the filing cabinet.
Method 2: Nail clipper file lock picking
Insert the nail file with a curved tip into the bottom of the keyhole. Rotate the nail file clockwise or counterclockwise to determine the unlocking direction. Then, apply slight pressure and move the nail file up and down 3-5 times to loosen the lock mechanism. The final step is to move the nail file in the correct unlocking direction, and the lock will open.
