SAN FRANCISCO – Williams-Sonoma Inc. has acquired the intellectual property of Dormify, an online retailer known for offering compact, stylish home décor geared toward college students and young adults. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to President and CEO Laura Alber, the acquisition supports the company’s broader strategy of expanding its brand portfolio to engage consumers at various life stages and design preferences. Alber noted that Williams-Sonoma’s expertise in design, digital innovation, and customer service would play a key role in scaling Dormify’s presence and accelerating its growth.
The company intends to relaunch Dormify in 2026.
Alber also emphasized that the move demonstrates Williams-Sonoma’s focus on sustainable, long-term growth and its ability to identify and capitalize on strategic opportunities that serve emerging market segments.
Williams-Sonoma Inc.’s existing brand family includes Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, West Elm, Williams-Sonoma Home, Rejuvenation, Mark and Graham, and GreenRow.
