TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — After more than four decades serving the Tuscaloosa community, family-owned Presley’s Furniture is closing its doors as the owners prepare for retirement. The company will wind down operations with a final liquidation sale starting June 19.
The going-out-of-business event is being managed by Planned Furniture Promotions (PFP), which is working alongside the Presley family and store staff to maintain the high standards of service and quality that have defined the retailer since its founding in 1981.
Tom Liddell, senior vice president at PFP, praised the Presley family, noting their “commitment to integrity, customer service, and family values” is reflected throughout the business.
Originally launched as The Wicker Palace by founders Jim and Dotti Presley, the store began with a focus on wicker and casual furniture. In 1982, their sons Scott and Todd joined the operation, helping it evolve to meet growing customer demand.
By 2000, the business had expanded significantly, prompting a move into a new showroom adjacent to the original building and a rebrand to Presley’s Furniture. The change allowed the store to broaden its product offerings to include a full range of home furnishings.
Throughout its 44-year history, the Presley family remained actively involved in the business, cultivating a strong local reputation and a loyal customer base.
The Presley’s Furniture property is now available for lease. Interested parties can contact Case McNeill at (205) 292-4643 for more information.
