Polywood began its journey in 1990, operating out of a garage in Indiana. The company initially focused on transforming recycled plastics into lumber for outdoor furniture. Today, it manufactures thousands of pieces at facilities in Indiana and North Carolina, maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability and American manufacturing.
According to founder Doug Rassi, the company remains driven by its core values of craftsmanship, sustainability, and high-quality standards, which continue to shape its innovation efforts, including the launch of Polywood Select.
The new material features two technological advancements: Microcell, which enhances moisture resistance, and GenuineGrain, a layered, wood-like texture that mimics the natural appearance of grain.
Available in Natural, Kona, and Driftwood finishes, Polywood Select will debut across several of the company’s existing lines, including Modern Adirondack, Edge, Vineyard, Nautical, and the PW Designer Series.
In addition to its upgraded aesthetics and performance, Polywood Select retains the brand’s signature attributes—solid high-density polyethylene construction and resistance to fading and severe weather conditions.
The new offering underscores the company’s focus on ongoing product innovation and its long-term commitment to U.S.-based production.
