BROOKLYN, New York — Novi Studio, the parent company behind online furniture retailer Sohomod.com, submitted an application for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York on December 30.

Founded in 2009, Sohomod.com focuses on distributing imported contemporary furniture for both residential and commercial use, catering to individual homeowners and business clients alike. The firm runs a warehouse in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and provides complimentary furniture delivery services across eight states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
According to court documents, Novi Studio reported estimated assets of slightly over $54,000, in contrast to estimated liabilities of approximately $1 million. The company’s revenue reached $3.3 million in 2024 and $3.1 million in 2023, as stated in its bankruptcy filing. Among its creditors are Itria Ventures, a financial services company headquartered in New York, and multiple credit card issuers.
