MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Sensational Sofas & Interiors, a family-owned furniture retailer serving the Memphis area for 37 years, will close its doors this year. A store-closing sale managed by Planned Furniture Promotions is set to begin January 16.
Founded in 1989, the business was purchased a decade later by Roger and Sandy Phillips, who built its reputation on customizable, high-end furniture and personalized service. Their daughter, Alexandra Quinn, joined in 2007, helping expand the store’s offerings to include interior design services and ready-to-deliver inventory.
Tom Liddell, Senior Vice President of Planned Furniture Promotions, praised the Phillips family’s integrity and customer dedication, stating it was an honor to support the respectful closing of such a community-respected business.
The store earned a loyal following by allowing customers to personalize details from fabric to frame, and was voted “Memphis Most” Favorite Furniture Store for seven consecutive years. Its closure marks the end of an era as Quinn plans to step away from retail to focus on family.
