LOGAN, Utah — Malouf is once again embracing the spirit of April Fools’ Day, delivering a playful lineup of fictional products designed to blur the line between innovation and imagination.
This year, the company leans into the buzz around artificial intelligence, claiming to have added a virtual team member to its product development process: SleepGPT, short for Sleep Great Product Technician. According to Malouf, this AI “expert” analyzed emerging sleep trends and generated a series of bold new product concepts.

CEO Sam Malouf joked that the company is tapping into AI’s “limitless potential” to expand its offerings. He added that the ideas produced by SleepGPT were so creative that they might even win over retail partners—at least for a laugh.
Among the tongue-in-cheek creations is an anti-gravity blanket, designed as the opposite of today’s popular weighted blankets. Instead of applying pressure, it supposedly uses magnetic technology to create a floating sensation—though it humorously requires 480 AAA batteries to function.
Another concept, the S755 BioFeedback base, features a so-called “odor-processing unit” meant to detect and manage unusual air conditions. The system even includes emergency ventilation that activates when certain gas levels are reached.
Rounding out the trio is the SafeStop system, intended to prevent sleepwalking. The design includes oversized built-in “hands” that gently keep sleepers from wandering off during the night.
While these products are clearly part of the brand’s annual prank, Malouf invites curious customers to “check them out” on April 1—with a knowing wink.
