NEW DELHI, India — Coast by DK, a renowned Indian furniture maker that debuted at High Point Market last fall, has significantly strengthened its U.S. operations with both an enlarged showroom and the acquisition of a warehouse.
Originally opening a 3,000-square-foot permanent showroom at 100B S. Main St., the space has now expanded to 8,000 square feet in preparation for the upcoming spring market. The showroom features a wide range of offerings, including dining sets, occasional tables, accent pieces, entertainment units, and decorative accessories.

Owner and CEO Dhiraj Kapoor shared, “Our first market launch was well-received; customers appreciated our designs and competitive pricing. Our new collections for spring required additional space, and this expansion allows us to showcase everything more effectively.”
Vice President Rodney Tippit highlighted the brand’s focus on innovative materials. “We’ve introduced marble and glass-poured products combined with mixed-metal finishes. We’re also unveiling new handcrafted items that mix brass, stainless steel, and mild steel, creating a luxurious, high-end look. This is what sets Indian craftsmanship apart.”
Looking ahead, Coast by DK plans to broaden its product range before the October market and eventually move into an even larger showroom. Tippit noted, “We’re receiving strong interest from top retailers, and our pricing and fresh designs give us great confidence.”
Balancing Quality and Affordability Amid Economic Challenges
Despite fluctuations in the global economy, including trade policies, supply-chain disruptions, and changing consumer trends, the company is maintaining stable pricing.
Tippit explained, “Tariffs have dropped from 50% to 15%, allowing us to lower prices while keeping quality high. Freight costs are a challenge due to rising U.S. gas and shipping rates, but the tariff reduction helps balance overall costs.”
Additionally, Coast by DK has secured a new warehouse in Archdale, N.C., capable of holding up to 50 containers, ensuring ample inventory support for its growing U.S. business.
