NEW YORK — ICFF, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, is shifting its traditional May timing to November 2027, running alongside hospitality trade show BDNY (Boutique Design New York). The announcement comes just ahead of NYCxDesign week, scheduled for May 14-20, which includes this year’s ICFF running May 17-19.
ICFF Brand Directors Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat explained that after 37 years of defining contemporary design in the U.S., the move reflects where the industry is heading. They noted that exhibitors and partners consistently reported an overly compressed spring international fair calendar, prompting the brand to take meaningful action. The decision, they emphasized, was shaped by years of listening and discussion rather than change for its own sake.
Both shows will remain distinct, independently curated trade events, each maintaining its own identity, audience, and programming. ICFF 2027 is scheduled for November 7-9.
In preparation for the new timing, ICFF will host several events, including an ICFF Lounge at BDNY this coming November and an ICFF Night Out as part of the NYCxDesign Festival in May 2027.
This will not mark the first time the two fairs have run concurrently. ICFF was rescheduled to November in 2021 due to the pandemic.
ICFF is owned by Emerald Holding Inc., which also owns Hospitality Design, KBIS, and BDNY. Emerald, along with Questex, was recently acquired by Apollo.
