MURRAY, Utah – Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. has appointed Rick Lockton as its new executive vice president and chief digital, product, and technology officer, effective Nov. 3. Lockton’s appointment aims to accelerate the company’s digital expansion and improve conversion rates as it shifts toward becoming an “Everything Home” business.

Lockton will be responsible for overseeing the company’s digital transformation, product innovation strategy, and technology integration. His duties will include driving omnichannel initiatives, exploring blockchain investments, and leading new ventures in home technology, all while focusing on expanding Bed Bath & Beyond’s online retail operations.
Marcus Lemonis, the company’s executive chairman and principal executive officer, emphasized, “As we evolve from a traditional retailer to a comprehensive home ecosystem provider, our priority remains strengthening our online retail foundation.”
Before joining Bed Bath & Beyond, Lockton served as the senior vice president of digital at Tractor Supply Company for two years. He also held the role of senior vice president and e-commerce general manager at Ashley Global Retail for two years, following an 11-year tenure at Walmart, where he advanced to vice president of digital product.
Lockton expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “Bed Bath & Beyond is an iconic brand with immense potential to redefine the way people experience home living while enhancing the value of their assets. I’m excited to lead this transformation, reinforcing our core retail business and creating smarter, more connected customer experiences.”
In his new position, Lockton will oversee digital, AI, product, and technology functions to help position Bed Bath & Beyond as a leader in retail innovation and home technology.
