TORONTO — Creative Matters x Reddie has launched Vista, a collection of custom handwoven solid rugs featuring rich texture, ethical craftsmanship, and sustainably sourced wool. The collaboration debuted at Clerkenwell Design Week within Reddie’s new London showroom, where select Vista pieces are now available.
Handwoven by artisans in Afghanistan, the collection facilitates work and social engagement for Afghan women in small community weaving centers or their own homes, providing them with livelihood opportunities. Many of these women serve as the sole breadwinners for their families.
The rugs are crafted using local Ghazni wool from mountainous sheep and woven with 45×45 Persian knots. Available in sizes ranging from 8’x10′ to 12’x15′ or custom dimensions, the collection offers a striking contrast between modern, cityscape-inspired designs and the rustic texture provided by the wool and ancient knotting technique.
Each of the nine designs—Promenade, Plaza, Skyline, Horizon, Boulevard, Acreage, Summit, Avenue, and High Street—features geometric blocks of color, clean borders, and subtle patterns. All designs can be customized to suit specific colors and sizes and are available exclusively through Reddie Furniture.
Founded in 1988 in Toronto, Creative Matters has designed hand-knotted rug collections and bespoke, fair-trade floor coverings for clients in more than 40 countries.
