Founded in 2005, Life Outside manufactures patio furniture for furniture stores, pool and spa dealers, design professionals and other specialty retailers across North America.
The vertically integrated company operates its own factories in Zhejiang province, China, very near Shanghai.
“It‘s about an hour and a half by car,” Sales Manager Winky Qi. “We ship from either the Port of Shanghai or the Port of Ningbo.”
Life Outside‘s product assortment uses aluminum, HDPE, rope, wicker, rattan and other materials across dining and deep-seating collections. The company emphasizes contemporary styling, comfort and low-maintenance performance for residential and commercial outdoor settings.
One of the collections shown in Atlanta combined an aluminum frame with HDPE and webbing, designed to enhance durability for outdoor use. Other products paired aluminum and HDPE with sintered-stone surfaces.
The company says it also uses powder-coated aluminum, UV-stabilized HDPE, ROTA+ all-weather wicker and fade-resistant Sunbrella cushions. The supplier describes its collections as combining contemporary aesthetics with contract-grade durability.
“All of our fabric is Sunbrella,” Qi said. “Sunbrella is well-known in the United States, so everyone recognizes the brand and likes it. It is also much stronger outdoors.”
Although Life Outside is continuing to expand its brand recognition among American retailers, the company has exhibited at Casual Market for nearly two decades.
Life Outside said it supports its U.S. retail and design partners with flexible ordering, inventory planning, replacement parts and customer service.
