NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The new hybrid Bed Bath & Beyond + The Container Store concept is making a play for the Back-to-Campus business, a season the legacy BBB chain once dominated.
Beginning June 16, all 97 hybrid format stores are set with a dedicated College Living destination stocked with merchandise for dorm rooms and first apartments. Key categories include bedding, storage, everyday essentials, and décor.
Amy Sullivan, President of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., reflected that for many, college move-in is an unforgettable moment. She noted that Bed Bath & Beyond helped generations of families through that transition and expressed pride in doing so again. Sullivan added that the collection is built around items students actually need, along with pieces that help make a dorm or apartment feel homey.
The College Living destination collection includes:
-
Bedding Essentials – Mattress toppers, comforters, sheet sets, pillows, and nail-free headboards starting at $89.99.
-
Small-Space Storage & Organization – Rolling carts, over-the-door organizers, underbed storage, and slim hangers.
-
Everyday Essentials – Laundry solutions, towels, shower caddies, first aid, and mini kitchen electrics at $40 and under.
-
Personal Touches – Accent seating, storage ottomans, throws, LED lighting, memo boards, and décor for a personalized space.
The curated assortment is available at all Bed Bath & Beyond + The Container Store locations and online, with an extended assortment available online at Bed Bath & Beyond. Customers can also download a comprehensive move-in checklist.
Kirkland’s by Bed Bath & Beyond offers an edit of décor designed for small-space living and college life. The retailer is also offering deals, dorm inspiration, organization tips, and move-in checklists throughout the summer to those who text COLLEGE to 22822.
Sullivan added that college isn’t just about moving into a room—it’s about starting a new chapter. She emphasized that the company’s role is to make that transition easier, more affordable, and more exciting for students and their families.
