MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. — Bay Breeze Patio, a distinguished outdoor furniture retailer, commemorated its 20th anniversary with a celebratory event at its Miramar Beach showroom. The occasion highlighted the company’s journey since its establishment in 2005, featuring presentations by industry experts, exclusive promotions, and reflections on its evolution.
Founded on February 1, 2005, by owners Susan Kiley and Wayne Paul, the business has expanded significantly from its initial offering of three wicker furniture collections. Today, the retailer showcases over 16 collections from its original manufacturer, alongside 19 premium outdoor brands. The showroom’s inventory now encompasses grills, outdoor kitchens, weather-resistant textiles, fire pits, art, and decorative accessories.
“This milestone celebrates two decades of dedication and growth,” remarked Kiley. “When we began, we entered the venture with limited industry insight, uncertain of its longevity or potential success. In retrospect, that lack of preconception may have been advantageous.”
Though new to retail, Kiley and Paul leveraged their combined 50 years of expertise in sales, marketing, manufacturing, and global sourcing. “While these skills proved valuable, our passion for the outdoor furnishings sector truly defined our trajectory,” noted Paul. “Acquiring this business ignited a profound appreciation for the industry.”
The company has demonstrated resilience through significant economic challenges, including the 2008 housing crisis, the 2010 Gulf oil spill, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Post-recession, Bay Breeze Patio introduced annual Customer Appreciation Events, now its premier sales initiative, fostering lasting client relationships.
Reflecting on their journey, Kiley emphasized collaboration: “Two decades of achievement are rooted in our team, customers, suppliers, product lines, representatives, and community. There is profound fulfillment in cherishing one’s work and environment.”
Bay Breeze Patio’s anniversary underscores its commitment to quality and adaptability, cementing its role as a cornerstone in the outdoor living industry.
