Meet&CoHIGH POINT — California-based Armen Living has finalized the acquisition of Uwharrie Chair Company, a North Carolina manufacturer specializing in custom outdoor furniture. The transaction was completed on December 19, marking a strategic expansion of Armen Living’s outdoor category.

By integrating Uwharrie Chair into its portfolio, Armen Living aims to expand design capabilities, strengthen operational support, and accelerate growth while preserving the brand’s established identity.

Armen Living serves a broad network of residential and hospitality professionals, including designers, retailers, home stagers and commercial buyers. The company operates its primary distribution center in Southern California and maintains a strong national presence.
Uwharrie Chair Company is recognized for its made-to-order, customizable outdoor collections, all manufactured in the United States. Production and domestic distribution will continue at its North Carolina facility, maintaining its commitment to American-made craftsmanship.
Under the new ownership structure, Armen Living will expand its customer service operations at its Valencia, California headquarters. A dedicated account management team will support existing Uwharrie customers while onboarding new trade accounts. Former owner Erica Lloyd will remain involved during the transition, along with the current Uwharrie staff, to ensure continuity.
Lloyd noted that Uwharrie Chair’s foundation has always been rooted in quality, durability and customer trust, adding that Armen Living brings the scale and resources needed to support future growth without compromising authenticity.
Kevonian confirmed that Uwharrie Chair will continue to operate as a standalone brand, with its own website and market positioning as a premium, American-made custom outdoor furniture line. New product introductions are already in development.
The newly combined portfolio will debut at upcoming markets, including the Atlanta Winter Market at AmericasMart and the Las Vegas Market. Events are planned at both shows, where Armen Living will also present an expanded casual outdoor assortment and a soft launch of the refreshed Uwharrie Chair collection.
Armen Living executives said the collaboration is expected to broaden Uwharrie’s reach across residential and hospitality sectors, including luxury designers, resorts, vacation rentals and commercial properties.
