HIGH POINT — Rug vendors are arriving at this week’s High Point Market with a wide range of new collections, from bold Moroccan-inspired designs to hand-knotted luxury weaves and memory foam constructions.
Capel Rugs
Capel is bringing bright, bold colors to center stage with a large assortment of new collections, including three Moroccan-inspired designs: Bazaar, Casablanca, and Sahara. Each explores a different theme, drawing on the spirit of North Africa with bold colors, intricate geometric patterns, and rich textures.
Cameron Capel, President of Sales and Marketing, stated that every rug in the Bazaar collection feels like a curated artwork—bold, layered, and full of movement. He noted that the company’s strategy is to showcase colorful, hip designs influenced by Moroccan and global creativity.
Capel’s showroom is at 200 N. Hamilton St., South Court.
Kalaty
Kalaty is emphasizing its new high-end, hand-knotted collections, including Waldorf, the newest addition to its Luxe-Weave collection. Company spokesman Kamran Kalaty noted that Waldorf brings the number of Luxe-Weave collections to six, with more in development. The company is also debuting new Lori-Loom handcrafted collections.
Kalaty added that its oversized “Mansion Sizes” group—available in dimensions up to 16′ x 24’—has grown to include more fashion colors and trend-worthy designs. All Luxe-Weave collections are made with premium wools and undergo a proprietary hand-finishing process that creates a luxurious texture nearly indistinguishable from hand-knotted rugs.
Additional new collections include the Rove collection (hand-knotted with premium hand-spun wool) and the Infinity collection (contemporary abstract designs in hand-knotted wool).
The Kalaty showroom is at IHFC, G-369.
Cappadocia Rugs
Cappadocia Rugs, founded on a family tradition originating in Turkey, remains closely connected to its artisan production sources. New updates include the Antalya rug (a refined Oushak design with a softer palette), the Artisan rug (featuring celadon, terracotta, and indigo tones), and the Pure Luxe design (with a sculptural surface). Each rug is hand-knotted using wool and natural dyes.
CEO Ahmet Koker stated that the goal is to create heirlooms that can be passed down through generations, just as the artistry has been carried on through his family. He added that High Point Market is an important opportunity to connect with the design community.
The Cappadocia showroom is at Suites at Market Square, M-8041. The company will host an open house on Saturday, April 25, from 1-4 p.m.
Rugs America
Rugs America is introducing Rug-O-Pedic, a new construction featuring thick memory foam for enhanced comfort and support. CEO Ariel Hakimian explained that consumers are looking beyond design to built-in comfort, and Rug-O-Pedic delivers that functionality by combining style with a construction that enhances everyday living.
Hakimian noted that demand has grown for soft-surface flooring solutions that provide both style and physical support. Rug-O-Pedic features a thick memory foam core, non-slip backing, and durable surface materials.
The Rugs America showroom is at IHFC, W-346.
