CONOVER, N.C. — American Signature, a prominent retailer in the furniture industry, is shutting down its North Carolina facility, impacting approximately 300 employees.
According to local reports from WSOC, the company notified workers of the layoffs on December 29. The plant, formerly known as the Kroehler factory, is owned by American Signature, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Delaware in November.
The closure in Conover is part of a broader restructuring effort, which also includes the decision to close the company’s headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, 33 locations operating under the American Signature Furniture and Value City Furniture brands will be shut down.
