HIGH POINT — The accent furniture segment — a diverse mix of smaller furnishings such as accent chairs, occasional tables and bookcases — experienced a modest downturn in 2025. New estimates from Home Accents Today, a Furniture Today sister publication, show the category slipping 0.6% to $21.46 billion, just under the $21.59 billion recorded in 2024.

Traditional furniture retailers, still the primary sales channel for accent pieces, absorbed one of the sharpest drops, with revenue falling 1.8%. In contrast, online retailers posted a mild 1.3% uptick, continuing e-commerce’s steady growth despite broader market challenges.
The performance of accent furniture mirrors the overall slow pace of the furniture sector this year. Still, the broader home accents market across seven major categories is projected to advance 1.2%, reaching $86.1 billion in 2025, according to the newly released 2025 Universe Report.
While growth remains subdued, the category’s wide range of functional, style-driven products keeps it a key contributor to the home accents landscape.
