HIGH POINT — Tristen William has expanded its High Point Market presence with the launch of Colton, a new furniture collection inspired by the American Southwest and ranch living.
Part of the brand’s Ranch collection, Colton currently includes five pieces: a sofa, swivel armchair, lounge armchair, bar stool with arms, and swivel stool with arms.
Principal Som Santoso described the collection as having a modern, masculine feel with “Texas-sized” scale. He explained that he wanted each piece to feel substantial, solid, and almost masculine—something to lean into for an entire day.
The upholstered seats feature boucle and chenille fabrics, with curved arms and sculptural channeled backs in warm greens and browns, paired with dark wood stains or natural wood finishes. Stools and dining chairs incorporate leather, a Western staple. Stud details throughout the collection evoke saddle hardware or bullets, with the Colton name referencing the iconic Colt revolver.
Santoso noted that while the collection nods to Texas ranch houses, it carries a modern feel that can cross over into other design aesthetics. He stated that American design is not a single definition but a mix of histories and perspectives, and Colton represents one expression rooted in the Southwest while remaining relevant for today.
Future plans include the Silverado collection this October, featuring new fabrics and additional pieces such as an armoire and armless dining chairs and bar stools, followed by Latin- and Asian-inspired lines. Santoso, who is from Indonesia and has a background in kitchen design, works from concept to prototype before contracting with factories across Indonesia, Malaysia, China, and Vietnam for finished production.
