I’ve been going into a lot of office buildings lately and keep seeing a reception desk. What is Reception Desk? Is it just for checking in visitors or something more?
“Reception desk” refers to a service desk located at the entrance of places such as offices, hotels, or hospitals, where visitors are received and basic information and services are provided.
It is also commonly called a front desk, information desk, welcome desk, or reception / reception area.
Its main functions are: welcoming visitors, providing information, giving directions, and handling basic administrative tasks.
