Who invented the standing desk? I’ve heard a few different stories, but I’m curious to know the real origin!
The exact inventor of the standing desk is difficult to determine. However, according to the earliest records available, the world-renowned artist Leonardo da Vinci is believed to have been one of the first to use a standing desk. He reportedly worked in a standing position while creating sketches and paintings, including the Mona Lisa.
It was not until the 18th and 19th centuries that standing desks became more widely popular. Several notable figures were also known to favor working while standing, such as Thomas Jefferson, Donald Rumsfeld, and Ernest Hemingway.
