MINNEAPOLIS — Sleep Number Corp. has entered the affordable adjustable mattress category with the launch of ComfortMode, a new model designed to appeal to consumers previously unable to access its premium-priced lineup.
Priced at $1,599 for a queen size, ComfortMode offers Sleep Number’s signature firmness adjustability and temperature regulation without requiring a connected app. The company is also introducing a new adjustable bed base, retailing at $1,399, designed to work with existing bed frames and provide head and foot adjustability.
Company President and CEO Linda Findley stated that ComfortMode responds to consumer demand for flexibility and comfort without compromise. She explained that the new mattress sets a new baseline for the brand, delivering the luxurious feel of Sleep Number’s premium models at a more accessible price point. Findley added that it was developed in response to requests for both app-enabled and non-connected adjustable options.
The 10-inch mattress includes multiple comfort layers, such as a 3.5-inch top layer for support, a responsive cover, and body-contouring custom foam designed to reduce motion transfer and regulate temperature. The accompanying adjustable base features zero-gravity positioning and under-bed lighting.
Melissa Barra, Sleep Number’s Executive Vice President and Chief Product & Enterprise Strategy Officer, emphasized that ComfortMode simplifies the brand’s core benefit of personalized adjustability to fit more budgets and lifestyles. She noted that this launch—the fastest in company history—demonstrates Sleep Number’s ability to adapt and innovate based on consumer feedback, helping to expand its market reach.
ComfortMode, along with the new adjustable base, will be available in stores and online beginning January 20. The combined system retails for just under $3,000, establishing a new entry point into the Sleep Number brand.
