BATON ROUGE, La. — Grand Gallery, a family-owned furniture retailer and long-time independent Ethan Allen licensee, is closing its doors after 91 years in business as the owners prepare for retirement.
Founded in 1934, the store has served generations of customers in the Baton Rouge community and operated as an authorized Ethan Allen retailer for over 50 years, known for its quality furnishings, design expertise, and personalized service.
Owner Todd Grand stated that the decision to close is bittersweet, filled with deep gratitude for the privilege of serving the community. He reflected that many customers became lifelong friends, with furniture placed in homes across multiple generations, and expressed profound thanks for the loyalty and support received over the decades.
The family emphasized that the closure is solely a retirement choice and not a reflection on the business or local support, extending sincere appreciation to employees, designers, vendors, and partners who contributed to the company’s lasting success.
Grand added that their legacy was built not just on selling furniture, but on nurturing relationships, honoring craftsmanship, and being woven into the city’s community fabric.
To manage the closure, Grand Gallery has partnered with Smart Furniture Promotions to conduct a store-closing retirement sale event.
