How To Remove Office Desk Drawers?

Removing an office desk drawer is very simple; just follow these steps.

1. Prepare first: Empty the drawer to reduce weight and avoid injury; start with the top drawer (prevents furniture tipping).
2. For wood-glide/free-rolling drawers: Pull out as far as possible → Tilt the front downward to lift the back end over the stopper → Slide straight out.
3. For metal-glide drawers with levers: Pull out fully → Locate levers on both sides of the track → Press (or pull up) both levers simultaneously while supporting the drawer → Pull straight out.
4. For drawers with stabilizer screws: Pull out fully → Find screws at the track ends → Remove with a Phillips screwdriver → Lift catch tabs to separate track halves → Pull out the drawer.
5. For drawers with anti-tip cables: Pull out fully → Unscrew the cables on the back → Press disconnect tabs (if any) → Slide the drawer off the tracks (push back extended tracks afterward).
