First, thoroughly clean the metal surface of the office desk to remove dust, oil, and old wax. If there is rust, remove it first. Next, sand the entire metal surface with medium-grit sandpaper to slightly roughen it, improving paint adhesion. After sanding, clean off any dust and keep the surface dry.

Then, apply a coat of metal-specific anti-rust primer. This is a crucial step to prevent paint peeling and rusting.
