ATLANTA — Zuo Modern is embracing a bold take on mid-century design with the debut of a new collection at the September Casual Market.
Among the highlights is the Batu dining table, offered in gray and black, designed to suit both hospitality and residential spaces. Crafted with faux marble sintered stone and powder-coated steel, the table combines durability with design versatility.
The clean gray-and-black palette gives it a sharp, contemporary edge, while its silhouette—particularly in the gold finish—draws inspiration from Art Deco styling. Paired with the Sieve swivel dining chair, the introduction underscores Zuo’s commitment to blending modern aesthetics with timeless influences.
Reflecting the brand’s ongoing theme of indoor-outdoor living, the series also includes a bar stool and dining chair, available in bar, counter, and dining heights. A new line of faux marble dining tables, made of glass, extends the collection further.
“This new series shows the merge between indoor and outdoor that continues to guide our design approach,” said CEO Luis Ruesga.
Ruesga also shared his perspective on global trade conditions, noting that current tariffs on aluminum, steel, and imports from China, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia have, for now, leveled the competitive landscape.
“With equal tariffs across countries, it puts everyone on the same page,” Ruesga explained. “I’m more concerned about interest rates than tariffs. During the pandemic, even with high freight costs, low interest rates and low unemployment kept the cash flowing. Let’s see if rates come down again.”
